16 Summer Cleaning Tips for a Sparkling Home

16 Summer Cleaning Tips for a Sparkling Home

I guess I’m on a cleaning bender right now.  I just thought this article may be of some use to you since I haven’t met a person yet who can say they love to clean; I also don’t know that many people, so I’m sure there is at least one person out there who is just an avid cleaner.  I thought these cleaning tips would come in handy, so I’m sharing the link with you.  It’s from the Better Homes & Garden’s website, so there will be a lot of fluff, but the article itself is useful.  I hope some of these tips help you keep your home sparkling!

66 All-Natural Cleaning Solutions

66 All-Natural Cleaning Solutions

Here’s a link to all kinds of different natural cleaning solutions to use in your home in lieu of the caustic over the counter cleaners available at the stores.  I recommend Rocky Mountain Essential Oils for the essential oils, that’s where I buy mine and they have always been of the best quality.   Lemons can be bought anywhere and the rest can be pretty easy to get your hands on.  The article includes affiliate links for things like castile soap, etc.  Anyway, I am big on using natural cleaners, because they are usually simple to use and they are so much more environmentally friendly, not to mention pet friendly.  Not that cleaning is ever fun, but using simple ways to do it might save time and effort while helping out the environment, a win-win in my book!

Using natural cleaners

Using natural cleaners

There are several natural things you can use to clean your whole house and not use the toxic stuff.  I have always used vinegar, but you can use lemon and baking soda as well.  The link below gives you some basic instructions on how to use these products to clean you house.  This is important for me because, as you know, I have furbabies and I don’t want them walking through those toxic cleaners getting it on their paws and then licking their paws and digesting it.  Not a good idea.  Besides, these things are way cheaper than the fancy cleaners, so benefits all around!

30 Easy Cleaning Tips

30 Easy Cleaning Tips

As my husband would attest to, I hate the cleaning part of homemaking.  I really do.  So, I did a search on cleaning tips in hopes of finding easy peasy tips to make it less horrible and came across this article.  Usually these main stream sites are loaded with a lot of fluff and very little content, but this article seems to be useful, at least to me anyway.  If you feel about cleaning like I do, then you’re going to hate it no matter what, but maybe making it simpler will at least lessen the pain of it all.  I hope you find this article useful and good luck with the whole cleaning thing.

How to clean stove burners and grates

How to clean stove burners and grates

This is a really cheap way to clean burnt on, greasy stove burners and grates using ammonia fumes.  I will include the link, it’s a very simple process but the link has pictures and information for you.  I plan on doing this ASAP, because mine need it bad.  Let me know how it works for you. Ammonia is very handy to have around the house, it can be used as a cleaner when diluted with water, can be used with baking soda to really clean the hard to clean things like ovens or window sills, can be added to laundry, etc. To buy lemon-scented ammonia from Amazon: Austin’s Lemon Scented Ammonia 64 Oz
